Sorry

by manic moments   Dec 18, 2006

Here's a story
About a girl whose sorry
For all the things she's done
She's sorry for every one

All the cuts she's made on her arm
She's sorry she made any harm
All the rumours that were spread
She's sorry she ever got out of bed

All the days they screamed
She's sorry she had ever dreamed
All the times that she cried
She's sorry she never died

Little girl so sorry for being
So sorry for ever seeing
Sorry for making words
So sorry for listening to the birds

The story of a child
Who sorry for feeling the urge to be wild
For making a day long and slow
For ever wearing a little pink bow

The story of how she went home
Sat there, thinking alone
Writing a letter for no one to read
Planting the only thing that wouldn't seed

Folding the paper, putting it next to her bed
Then laying down, resting her head
Holding the bottle of sweet pills
Waiting, waiting, for tears to spill

She whispers she's sorry
Marking the end of this story
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry," she said to the letter
And then she took the pills to feel a little better

This is the sotry
Of a girl who was forever saying sorry
She took some pills, and made the world dark to her eyes
And said sorry for all her lies

Sorry for ever making a mistake
Sorry for never knowing what not to take
Sorry for trying and failing to be real
Sorry for ever knowing to feel

The letter is sitting in your hand
Waiting for you to understand
Little girl so sorry for ever being alive
Yet always sorry but never thrive

Don't say your sorry for ever reading this
For that little girl is poorly missed
All the time she made the mistake
For saying sorry for what other's had to take
