TRY TO LET YOU GO

Please just think of how it used to be,
were you ever really happy when you were with me?
Because if you weren't, and it was all for show,
then i will release you and let you go.

I wont ask you to stay,
And i wont even cry as you walk away.
I will try to make it easier for you,
you must do what you have to do.

But shame on you for making me believe,
why did you do that if you intended to leave?
Was i just something you used to pass the time?
If that is the case, then you were never mine.

To me you are special and you always will be,
there is no one else more dear to me.
I can kid myself on as much as i wish
but i know for the rest of my life it is you i will miss.

I never knew love could hurt this much,
i never knew i would need someones touch.
But cant make you love me, cant make you stay,
please don't look back as you walk away.

The truth is clear there is no hope for me,
and for my future there is no love i see.
I try to believe the lies i say,
but i know my heart is no longer mine to give away.
