Love\'s Shadow Memory

by Jesse   Dec 18, 2006

Light retreats from the window;
Darkness crawls across the room.
Darkness drapes
The window,
The chairs,
The bed.
There stands a man.
A man looking out the window.
Looking at the trees,
Feeling the wind.

I stand there;
My chest rises,
My chest falls.
The cool air chills me,
My hands trace the zipper of my warm shirt.
My eyes wander
Outside.
There are two trees
Blowing in the wind,
Two trees dancing in the wind

Beads of sweat,
Caress my chest,
I run my hand over my chest
Crossing my beating heart.
I let my eyes wander;
I let my spirit dance with the night
With the wind

I gave away a piece of my heart
over something,
something small,
something that meant the world,
something as
beautiful as
Trees dancing in the wind.

Her eyes said
\"try me,
if you dare\";
I dared.
She stole a piece of who
I am.
I gave up a piece of my heart
A piece of my love.
I kept
her smile
On my lips.
Forever.

Light Blasts into the room,
Darkness explodes around me
I steal away into the night.
To dance with the wind
To dance amongst the trees.
To find my love once again.
