Unimaginable Good-Bye

by Janine Fournier   Dec 18, 2006

A time when nothing else seemed to matter
A time when emptiness would prevail
A time when all hope would subside
A time when the truth would unveil

A time when the laughter would come to a stop
A time when the hurt would take over it all
A time when the pain would over come the joy
A time when the anguish would make it all fall

A time when the happiness would take over the grief
A time when the hate would take over the love
A time when the curse would take over the faith
A time when the message was too strong from above

A time when bright eyes would portray darkness and dread
A time when the biggest smile would frown
A time when all the happy memories would desist
A time when in sheer sorrow his whole life would go down

A time when the rain fell a little too hard
A time when the sun didn't shine quite so bright
A time when the air was a little too heavy
A time when the earth just didn't spin right

A time when the decision just had to be made
A time when his fate lay in his own hands
A time when no one could see it coming
A time when he had made his very own plans

A time when the phone calls would break everyone’s heart
A time when everyone would stop in their tracks
A time when everyone would wonder whatever went wrong
A time when we wish we could but can never take back

A time when silence was all that made sense
A time when the only thing to do was cry
A time when we could only wish it was for the best
A time when everyone’s words fell too short of goodbye
