Twin Shadows

by RainbowSlider   Dec 18, 2006

We were shadow dancers on the wall
and we were together we stood tall.
Your hands were in mine for a time
but now the visions are lost in rhymes.

With locks out of place we disgraced
but determination everything we faced.
We had forever in all that knew to do
and its no wonder now I think of you.

Like fireflies we flickered out of sight
casting shadows on a moonlit night.
By a dawn yet to be born we flew
cascading through a twilight due.

We climbed the mountaintop of scorn
but with an earned grace we're adorned
to wake to a new adventure in the morn
perchance to a new life to be reborn-ed.

Gone are the dew drops this day of frost.
In bodies of indifference we are now lost.
Gone are the fresh roses that are done.
Yet, echoes of the reaper; "Tell no one".

    This is absolutely outstanding!!!
You are the uncrowned king when it comes to sad poetry.
