Defeated Misery

by Hayley Bird   Dec 18, 2006

She goes in her room and she locks the door
She sits on her bed, but falls to the floor
She looks around and she begins to cry
She can't take it anymore, she wants to die
She finds some strength and begins to crawl
She can't hold herself up, she leans on the wall
She goes to her closet and takes out a box
She grabs a key and works on the lock.
She opens it up and takes out her knife
She struggles to maintain control of her life
She examines the knife, she looks at her wrist
She can't help but wonder if she'll be missed
She gently slides the blade over her skin
She knows that this is her final sin
She pushes the blade deep until she bleeds
She does this over and over fulfilling her needs
She lets go of the knife, it falls to the ground
She lies on the floor, not making a sound.
He knocks on her door but she doesn't reply
He listens intently and wonders why
He kicks down the door and it falls down
He smiles at her, but it turns to a frown
He runs over to her, tears fill his eyes
He holds her up as he starts to cry
He broke her heart that's why she's dead
He came to get her back and this is what he said:
"I was wrong, you were right
I never meant to start that fight.
I didn't mean to make you cry
I never expected you to die."
He stays there with her and strokes her hair
He loves her so much, he really does care
But now she's his angel, his only love
She'll watch him and protect him from above.
