Silent night

Silent Night
Holy Night

We are all sitting around quietly on this
Christmas Eve, trying to be jolly and
bright as usual, but this will be our first
Christmas without her.

All is Calm
All is Bright

All certainly is calm. No one is moving at
all. The lights on the tree illuminate the
teardrops that are steadily falling into
cups of cold coffee. The only sounds
coming from our little Christmas family
are sniffles unsuccesfully trying to be
concealed. The sounds of the fireplace
and a faint carol can be heard drifting
from the back room where untouched
plates of food are growing cold.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace

Yes, sleep now. Sleep silently. No more
suffering, no more pain. Cancer may
have taken your strength, your hope,
and, in the end, even your life. But it
never took your love. You loved each
and every one of us with everything you
had, right up until the moment you took
your last breath. As much as we didn't
want to let you go, we were ready to see
you move on. We all love you dearly, and
we'll miss you.
