The determination you have to do things right

Related or not, friend, father, or mother
The red in your face from something you've thought
Wanting to share it, but thinking best not

The way you care about my masked tears
The concern in your eyes when something's wrong
How you encourage me to go on

Miss the long talks about nothing but life
From happiness to hurt, stability to strife
The upsetting look when I have to leave
Really, I miss you when you're not next to me.

You're my best friend, and if it's more than great
But I'm happy you're here, for my hearts sake
