There's No Such Thing as a Happy Ending

Once upon a time. How they always start.
Stories of love straight from the heart.
Two people meet and fall in love,
For they were destined from up above.

This isn't real life, things aren't so great,
You must go through a lot to find a date.
You can be in love, but it might not be returned,
Yet in your heart the love will forever burn.

This is life, not some happy story,
Real life is cruel! There is little glory.
To find love, you must search high and low,
And hide the tears from the pain they throw.

Typical story: girl meets a boy,
She falls in love, she's just his little toy.
He does what she wants, and breaks her heart,
And now she has to completely restart.

Real life isn't all rainbows and smiles,
To find love you must search for miles.
History will repeat, you'll find someone to do the mending,
Just remember: there's no such thing as a happy ending.
