Like the Bennu bird

by Jemma   Dec 19, 2006

Feel the fear
Feel the flame
No longer an illusion
This is real
You can feel
The fire in our hearts
Oh, oh
Don't you know
What will come to pass
When you spread your wings to fly?
Surrounded by death's stares
You shall rise
Born of darkness
Born of cold
Lost in light
In the heat of the blaze
Outward Glory
External splendour
Oh, oh Bennu
Forgive us the ice
Secrets buried in our hearts
Forgive us of our doubts
As you come yet again
As you warm the stone yet again
And awaken our ashen souls
Surrender to your flame
The fear of finality
Fear you shall not awake again
Fear that death is the end
Fear that death has no end
And we are stuck wandering
We dread what lies beyond
It's no longer an illusion
This
Is
Real
We welcome you to warm us
Our hearts are stone
We're cold
Oh, oh
We who dwell so low
Desire to be granted flight
So that we may hope to aid you
So that we may seek to join you
In forever, oh eternity
Oh Bennu

**The Bennu bird is the Egyptian Phoenix. I didn't really know where to place it. It could be interpretted as sad, fantasy, miscellaneous so here it lies.**
