Beneath the Moon's Gaze

by Jemma   Dec 19, 2006

The moon was shining and the wind fell on deaf ears
The moon was faceless in the dark
The new night fell
The new moon died
The new son cried
And a brother fell back
As his head rolled back
And the boy hugged dust, the boy held nothing
The boy had dirt trails beneath his eyes
The mud clung to him
He fell
He fell
He fell
He could not rise to tell those men
Those men caressing their stomachs
Those men downing those drinks
Those men stood eyeing the doorway
Trying to get away
Running away
Fear not that he will find you
He is gone
The boy is gone and the son is going
Youve let him go
You let him go
You let them run away
You saw not the shadows that fell from the moons gaze
You let him fall
You let him sink
To the bottom of the ocean
You could have brought him up
You could have given him air
You could have brought him back
He hugs the dirt
He cannot wait to leave
He cannot wait to fall and sink
He cannot wait
He cannot go fast enough
You caused his pain
His mother has forgotten in her grief
He hugs the dust
He hugs the dust
And so he falls

This (and some others of yours) sounds as if it should/could have haunting music and a husky-voiced singer to accompany the images you congure....quite dreamlike.....
