Shattered me.

by in spite of love   Dec 19, 2006

I look into a shattered mirror
I watch ashes fade to dust
No one left to hold me
No one there to trust.

As I'm lying broken,
Millions of pieces on the floor.
I hold memories of old times...
And I miss them more and more.

The way you used to look at me
The way you'd sit and smile.
Now you're saying I didn't love you..
I guess I'm in denial

In the end I'll look in the mirror,
The truth I'll finally see.
The mirror isn't shattered..
The shattered one is me.

The poem itself I would have given a 4/5, but when I read the last stanza, I felt it had to go up to 5/5...which I gave. They poem had a good flow, and a great use of wording. Obviously, my favorite stanza was the closing one. It was perfect in my opinion. It seemed so wise.

P.S. Thanks for commenting on my poem 'The Mask'. You know, I wrote that poem almost a year ago, and yet my life is exactly the same.
