Goodbye. [A Christmas Poem]

by Hannah Emellia   Dec 20, 2006

See the fire?
See the light?
A Tree aflame,
Burning through the night.

Oh, Christmas tree,
Where are you?
Have you disappeared?
Every single one vanished,
Is it what we feared?

Please don't forget my Christmas tree,
The only thing I love,
Don't you say it's burning...
Not a sign from above?

Cross your fingers,
Close your eyes,
Make a wish,
And say goodbyes.

Goodbye to Christmas,
Goodbye to cheer,
Goodbye to Santa,
Goodbye to his reindeer.

Your Christmas might not be over,
But mine has long been lost,
Ever since that one time...
It's gone like winter's frost.

This poem was fairly good. What I mean was, that it was a nice read, but it was nothing special in my novice opinion. One thing though, I think you shouldn't have had 'Where are you?' in the second stanza because it disturbs the structure. Anyway, MERRY CHRISTMAS AND I HOPE YOU HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR.
