It's her birth day, now older having her birthday
in Dec. on a Thursday, celebrating bigger than earth day,
she started to wear make-up
with that and clothes time she'd take up
out my wallet money she'd rake up
wife in the kitchen fixing her cake up
happy birthday we sang, old enough she wanted to do her own thang
let her be happy in my ear it rang
it hurt knowing this how close our family we'll brang
please honey stay awhile remembering from when she was a child
at that time we spent being mild
now she out partying being wild
it's hard letting go, with what we know
seeing what path they go, dreams up high an some on the flo
teaching her right from wrong was the mission
i know i can trust her she'll make the right decision
following a fathers heart and not this stupid vision
see if only we accomplished this mission
happy birthday once again baby
for not being crushed like a daisy
seeing how you grew up a lady
and yes i still been missing you lately
wrote you a new picture just call it art
without you this wouldn't even have a start
baby girl i love you with all my heart
remember no one can tear that apart
