The year end has made its arrival
Dressed in bright lights
Resembling a broken souls revival

In its brilliant red white and blue
It makes an appearance
Dressed in a cheerful hue

It starts with just a day
But flies bye without your approval
And starts with just another day
As you shake your head in disapproval

You ask yourself
Was it no just yesterday
Before youve stacked your goals on the shelf

You wonder where the time has gone
As your anticipate the new years arrival
It tricks you with its jokers suit on

You believe it a new beginning
As you set to create yourself a new portrait
Before you find yourself yet again spinning

You brush yourself off
With your new years resolution
Once again falling into a sloping trough

An unbeliever it has made of you
Truth hidden behind its colorful hue

Maybe if you take a moment to truly embrace
The facts of truth you may face

Theres a beginning set in each day
You dont have to wait for a new year
Anxiously awaiting it as you lay

It comes but once a year
Why not live for each day
