On track with the Lord

He had everything she wanted
The money and the fame
She wanted everything he had
So she took his name

He gave her all the diamonds
Her heart could ever desire
He tried to give her passion
To set her soul on fire

He gave her money to spend
When she was in a bind
He knew he wasn't happy with her
He was wasting his time

Then one day he gave and gave
Til he had nothing left
She was mad and highly upset,
"How will i support myself?"

So she packed her things
And she moved on
Leaving him empty
In a material home

He tried to win her back
But she turned her head away
She was heartbroken by the money
She had nothing to say

"I thought i could teach you
Love you can not buy
I thought i could show you things,
At least i thought to try

I thought that my love would change you
A better life you might take,
But in the end my heart was broken
Because of one mistake,

One mistake that costed me
All my riches and gold
But in this life i've learned a lesson
That to my heart i'll hold

Riches and fame can't change a heart
To love the one behind
Their heart is the same black hole it was,
Serenity it cannot find

From this day i'll hold my head
And respect my every word
I will live my life in peace
And on track with the Lord."
