The World Has Gone Insane

You can't always see
The pain a person feels
Especially when they hide it
And pretend that it's not real.

The girl that cuts herself
Day after day
Silently praying for help
And wishing her life away.

The boy who is bullied
Often by his dad
Hiding his bruises
Wondering why life is bad.

The girl who throws up
She just wont eat
No food stays with her for long
Be it chocolates or sweets.

The boy who's always smoking weed
trying to shove his problems away
Knowing the dangers but
Believing he'll be okay.

The girl who wishes she was beautiful
crying herself to sleep at night
Always wishing she was like the others
Sparkling shiny and bright.

The one wondering how to get his next fix
The boy addicted to meth
If he continues what he is doing
He's going to die a painful death.

There's the girl getting raped
Every day by her brother's friend
She pleads with him every day
'Please let this pain end.'

There's so many people
Hidden in a world of pain
Is it any wonder
The world has gone insane?

    A good piece with a good story/message. I liked the storytelling, and the writing, but I did think that the rhythm did stubble a few times. But overall, and enjoyable piece.

    You are right..this world is totally insane... some times it is so hard to actually have a happy moment any more..but the truth is if you have good true friends to help you through everything life isn't that bad...well other than that great job!

    I think I read Dacey's.. you guys' both rocked! I really can't choose which ones stand out, or I really like.. because.. yeah.. but I think this one rhymed and flowed very well:

    There's the girl getting raped

    Even though its kinda sick.. but like i said flow and rhyme.. great.

    You did a great job at this. :) You have a nack for rhymin.

    Wow. all of your poetry is amazing and I cannot pick a favorite poem! this one deals with the issues that are around today, and i love how you portrayed every character. once again, it flowed lovely, and i had a little bit of a tune in my head.
