A wish

by Flying Phoenix   Dec 21, 2006

The frozen mists of winter's touch
Rise and drift over fields and clutch
At the dawn, when sunlight stirs
Twists the air with secret spurs
These thousand men and mammals alike
Trawl the land without a fight
Stunned by the Yuletide nativity scene
Lit by stars and moonlights' gleam
To come to the place where a miracle born
Fills the land with love

Warmth and gifts surround the fire
Peace and wellbeing alight the spire
Of the fir decorated full
Of twinkling baubles and tinsel wool
And outside this merry night
Sit the homeless lonely in sight
Hoping for love and a mere kiss
On this Christmas Eve, grant their wish

Remember the true and those without
Not blinded by gifts, what it's actually about
The love and hearts of those who gave
Out their joy, and lives did save
