Never Meant to Be

by Kenzie   Dec 21, 2006

With all that I've Seen
And all that I've Known,
There's still so many things
That I Still Don't Understand.

Then suddenly this Pain
Doesn't Seem quite so Real.
And suddenly this Noise
Seems to Slowly Disappear.
And Now I Understand,
As Realization Sinks in,
Sometimes what we Want
Is better left Unsaid.

You and I
Just Aren't Meant to Be.
So Many Things I Regret,
So Many Things
That were Better Off
Left Unsaid.

And now It's Too Late,
For This Heart's already been set,
Too Late to Take Back these Words,
Too Late to Say what we Meant.

Then suddenly this Pain
Doesn't Seem quite so Real.
And suddenly this Noise
Seems to Slowly Disappear.
And Now I Understand,
As Realization Sinks In,
You and I Aren't what we Seemed to be.

Memories Forced to Fade.
Thoughts left Disclaimed.

The Extensive Pain
That You Still Can't Hide.
The Memories that You Can't Shed.
The Confusion You can't Release.

Then Suddenly this Pain
Doesn't Seem quite so Real.
And Suddenly this Noise
Seems to Slowly Disappear.
And Now I Understand,
As Realization Sinks In,
Sometimes Letting Go,
Hurts More than you Can Bear.
