Body Guards of Santa Claus {La'Tuin}

by xTheEcstasyOfSuicidex   Dec 21, 2006

This is about the guards of Santa Claus from the German background. It isn't my best, though. Oh well. Enjoy.

They haunt our thoughts on this Christmas Eve
Are bodily ghost still and cold.
Surronding St. Nick with ghostly guards
Dancing through the dazzling trees

Filled with pleausure, filled with ecstasy
Magic will flourish and unfold
Moving through the shining, dancing stars
The children laugh, happy with glee

As night takes over this haunting tale
The ghosts of guards do as they are told
Laughing pleasure, yet shounding like shards
They do their job in ecstasy

Evil devilsh demons will soon grieve
For the night is glittering old
'Send our tales of our last regards'
They haunt our thoughts on this Christmas Eve.

The La'Tuin, a poetic form created by Laura Lamarca, consists of 4-line stanzas with an
'abca, abca' rhyme scheme that is consistent throughout each stanza. Stanzas 2, 3 etc. must
all follow the same rhyme sounds as the first stanza. With the first stanza being repeated again
at the end of the piece. It contains a minimum of 4 stanzas, with no maximum length limit.

A strict syllable count of 9/8/9/8 is required per stanza.

This seems like a really tricky style. I liked it, and well done for pulling it off effectively.

    There was just one thing...

"With the first stanza being repeated again
at the end of the piece."

^ Umm, you didn't do that.

Anyway, 5/5, because I really liked the wording and structure, etc.
