Mute

by Craig Risi   Dec 22, 2006

I stand with a solution to the problems
And the answers to all the questions
Yet no one seems to hear them
I shout out a dash of brilliance
Letting people know my words of wisdom
But no one seems to notice me
I talk to people and offer my advice
After listening to them selflessly and patiently
Yet no one seems to have heard my speech
My moments of brilliance go unnoticed
And my efforts of sacrifice forgotten
No matter how hard I try to make a difference
Or how much I work to better others
I am left standing lonely and abandoned
I could be right
But I would still be wrong
I could have the power to save the world
But it would still fall in ignorance
Why do I bother speaking?
Why do I bother helping?
Why do I bother doing anything at all?
For no one seems to care
