This is true for many. I had a loved one serving over in Iraq . He died ... And I almost lost another this year . Almost . But him coming back was the greatest gift that 'Santa' could give me .
Thank you for writing this poem(: Some don`t realize those that are risking their lives in war for us . This was beautifully written .

I love the message of the poem... and for that i give it a 5/5! the flow was some-what off... but then it doesnt really matter... the deeper meaning took hold of me and i kept reading and reading... very nice poem... it reaches out to the readers...

Sometimes, the rhyming scheme of a poem isn't as critical as the deeper meaning behind a poem, nice job.

Although the flow was off in a few places, the sentiment behind the poem more than made up for it.

We do need to think of the ones who are unable to celebrate in the traditional way and hope that they find some comfort at Christmas time. I do so weep for those who have a hard time finding a reason to celebrate. May our prayers go out to them.

Aww, this was really sad. It upsets me that there are soldiers, and innocent people dying on CHRISTMAS. You really captured this concept in your poem, great work.

Wow! Another well-written poem! I loved the message. You reminded me how grateful we all should be for those soldiers at war. Thank you for that!

I agree with Twisted Heart, althought the flow was off in places, the message definetly makes up for it.

There are people who are less fortunate than us everyday, I think more people think about it around the holidays..when I was in college, we sent care packages to some of the soldiers in Iraq around Christmas time. Even though it only helped one platoon, if everyone did a little, it would add up to a lot! Great message in this one!

Another great read. I have nothing to say that would need to be done to this one either. It's sad about how selfish people are for political and money gain. We shouldn't be acting like this. Animals are better in that aspect, I do believe. Do keep up the good work, though.

The happiness is real in here, yet there is a hint of hate in it, of politics too.

the wording was amazing, keep writing.

I love this...it was so moving and resulted with thought provoking questions for me.
The flow was great throughout, the ending was perfect, it carried so much meaning.
