Danced That Night Away

by manic moments   Dec 23, 2006

A sweet lullaby hidden in those blue-gray eyes
A smile caught behind a hand
Secrets within those eyes I see
Could I, would I, understand?

Unforgettable invitation to the dance floor
His hand in mine
Never could I forget that night
And how his smile shined

I remember slow dancing
In the dark, surround yet alone
Slowly moving as the song changed
The sweetest thing I've ever known

His soft kiss on my lips
An enticement I couldn't reject
With his arms locked around me
This night I could never forget

Slowly walking away from him
Without saying goodbye
Didn't turn back to look
Didn't even try

All the way home
He was all I can think of
And if he could only believe
All I felt was love

That night, I danced, I kissed
I stared into those beautiful blue-gray eyes
And now I find myself waiting for those eyes, those lips
As I lay here, staring up into the blue-gray sky
