Just Don't Forget

by Kaye   Dec 23, 2006

Hey Uncle Boy!
Remember when we first met?
You called me little when you were the one
Who was younger and shorter too!

It was awkward wasn’t it?
Meeting for the first time at the age of eight.
I always thought you were kind of weird.
Always dressing in your school uniform,
You were such a nerd!

But we grew up, we changed.
We don’t talk as much anymore.
I see you maybe once every two months.
Our lives don’t mesh anymore.

You’ve really changed.
While I just grew older.
You’re all about brand names now.
You’re even taller than I am.
Hair style’s changed,
The porcupine look is in.

You kick it with the Populars
And snagged yourself a girl.
Even managed to learn to dance!
Apparently you’re quite the catch, ugh…

Hey Uncle Boy!
We don’t wrestle anymore
But instead just chill.
You offer to pay for things
Wow, you’re such a gentleman now.

But you know what?
Our bond is still there, strong as ever.
A bit awkward to get started of course
But we’re still a pair.
The two that share the same name.
I bet I can still pin you down!
Our bunk bed forts are still fun.
You know they are, just admit it.

You’re still my Uncle Boy.
Family ya know, we stick it.
Just don’t go overboard with the new you
Or I’ll be force to show you
Who’s who.
