Lying Reflections

by LADY B   Mar 27, 2004

A mirror, a disguise from what appears to be the truth
an abyss of gray binding light occupied by lies
trapped by the essence of beauty

through our wondrous looking glass
we venture on a journey to try to find who we are
but for some the road adjourns to nowhere

a reflection veils the secrets that hide beneath one’s skin
and unveils the manifestation that lies deep within us all
it is a self-painted portrait of who we all wish to be
a collage of conjured up perfection

we strive to fit in the tiny little frames
the tiny little frames of flawlessness,
of sheer magnificence glowing radiantly as the sun

our reflections entraps us into the dimensions of self-deception
therefore, we believe the fabricated stories written on our looking glass
but a reflection is just an image that exists only in one’s mind.
