Broken December

by Lauren Waszkiewicz   Dec 24, 2006

Echoing ever so softly,
snow falls to the ground
whispers, whispers, whispers.
concealing the lies they surround

December, my truest love,
what ever have I done?
poor freshly fallen, virgin snow,
soiled by the crimson blood.

My lovely, cold, chilling Winter's night.
I never meant to grant you such pain.
I know , I knew the events of that night,
could've happened during a night of rain.

Freshly fallen pure red snow
I regret what I have done to you,
I would give anything I never had
to bleach back your sparkling hue

Now I sit, forever locked indoors,
Never to feel your frigid wind
I've broken you, my lovely December..
I've killed you with one wretched sin

Sitting by the open fire
Yet forever chilled to the bone.
December, my only love,
Death is now what I condone

~~

Happy Kristen?
I capItalIzed my I's

That was truely an amazing poem. I loved your word choice, and it just sent CHILLS down by body. I'm kind of confused on what happened, though. Did you kill someone in december? Or did you actually kill the month of december? I'm alittle slow today. >.> Anyways, it doesn't matter if I understand it, because I still love it. Haha. *Adding this to my favorite poems*

    Keep writing!

I may have inrerpreted this meaning wrong but i thought it was amazing. If what i'm thinking is right, you are so very talented to be able to put it into such bittersweet beautiful words..
    Well done indeed
