Memories Of Christmas Past

by Cindy   Dec 25, 2006

Sitting here all alone bringing up memories,
thinking of Christmas long ago.
The way you'd wrap me in your arms
You kissing me under the miseltoe.

Watching the tree with lights aglow,
outside the snow is falling on the ground.
Our son is sleeping tucked in tight
Your playing Santa without a sound.

The presents are wrapped with thier bows,
Over the fireplace stockings are hung.
The yule log is burning, the cookies are baked
All the carols have been sung.

Now it's time for you and me,
to celebrate our Christmas Eve.
This is the night for my special gift.
In Santa dear you made me belive.

Then I remember you aren't here,
you are no longer by myside.
No more Christmas to share.
These memories I try to hide.

I dont know if its because of the amazing writing, or that it was posted on christmas eve but this one really brought tears to my eyes...im sorry for your loss, you captured true pain in this piece, and i can only hope to become as amazing of a writer as you are

this may sound stupid, but when i see something amazing, whether it be a song, lyrics, or a poem..i get chills to the point where i confuse it with anxiety, and your poem did this...amazing work cindy...wow

Your poetry really touches my heart...
It's so full of pain at times, but so sweet at others.
    As always, wonderfully written.
