The Fallen

by gabriel   Dec 25, 2006

Tonight I mourn an angel\'s fall
He fell and crashed into the wall
Wings broken, shredded and torn
Never will he be reborn

He lay painfully against the ground
Tentacles of blasphemy kept him abound
He couldn\'t lift his once-beautiful face
It was kept down by utter disgrace

He struggled to move but could not
The pain gradually constricted as he fought
Against the burn of shattered muscle and bone
He knew in it he was all alone

I stood there helpless in it all
My heart sank and tears started to fall
I clasped my hands around his
He winced as pain shot up his broken wrist

He looked up at me with hurtful eyes
The broken mask unveiling his ugly disguise
Cracked lines rode down his ancient forehead
It was so that he be better off dead

I jumped and pulled away from the scare
His naked body limply lay bare
I saw hate imbued into his gaze
That's when I knew he'd earned his place

Slowly I recoiled and backed-away
In an ancient tongue I heard him say
"Today the world lies in a solace of sin
I'm born anew with the Devil within"

I shivered and grimace while eluding fear
His darken aura was spreading near
It's time, I thought, as I crept away
Longing once again for the break of day
