Grampa Good-Bye

by Mollie   Mar 27, 2004

The wrinkles of wisdom showed on your face,
Words of laughter you talked about,
Walls around you always seemed a safe place,
A heart of gold both my Grampas,

Your presents I still feel all around
Your wisdom still reminding,
And this is what I think I’v found,

You may not be seen today,
But your looking over us each day,
You blow the wind to scar the fear,
It rains from when you shed tear,

You shine the sun to spread the cheer,
You flash the lightning to light the night,
That awkward presents reminds me your near,
You shine the sunrise to remember the light,

For many years I worried about,
Not getting to say good good-byes,
But your both still here all about,

In the wind the rain the sunrise,
The lightning sun and more,
And your love still as strong as before,
So there’s no need for good-byes.
