You get one guess

I've got this little object
It's wrapped up nice and tight
It's rather fragile mind you,
Can you guess it right?

I shall hint a few more
It's valuable and light to tow
But the person that last had it
apparently didn't think so

It doesn't work very well
It is really rather cracked
If you didn't know any better
You might think it's torn in half

This small object
That I hold in my hand
Is only meant for those
that can truely understand

I will now reveal it

That the precious object I hold
