Little Girl In the Blue Dress

by Cathy   Dec 26, 2006

Little girl in the blue dress
standing in the corner her hair such a mess
black smudges on her face and dried up tears on her cheeks
praying to god and hoping he speaks

Bruises on her legs and back
each bruise represents when she was being whacked
Her bones showing through her pale skin
Represents the hunger that awaits within

Her pretty brown eyes red and swole
Her pain and heartache her eyes leave to show
Just a little girl locked away this room
with parents that left her to her doom

They don't care they smile at her hurt
on cold winter nights they left her without a shirt
Or bottoms and a blanket to keep herself warm
They just left her in this blue dress dirty and torn

They are too busy drinking and doing crack
their poor innocent child left with no strength to fight back
her father abuses her while her mother just stares
Little girl in the blue dress life just isn't fair

She puts her head down on the cold cement floor
Waiting for the moment her father walks through the door
She is no longer afraid she knows heaven awaits
She just wished gods angels would be early instead of being late

She closes her eyes and her angels come into the light
they lift her little spirit and carry it through the night
She opens her eyes and is in gods kingdom now
God has taken her far away this hell
