I can feel it in your words
Though they're only on a screen
I can tell there's something wrong
Though it's distant, like a dream

Your father left you and your family
And you can't help the hate
Though you've tried to let it go
You can't forgive him at any rate

When he's mentioned you get depressed
But when you see him you smile
You locked away each emotion
And inside you cry all the while

Knowing all this kills me
Because there's nothing I can do

But I can't be there with you

While you're up there in your huge state
I'm in my little one here
