Sight

by Brittany   Dec 29, 2006

I can't believe I couldn't see,
Caught up in what you wanted me to be.
Gone are the days when you were fine with a smile.
Do I always have to walk that extra mile?
My heart steadily falling to pieces,
What love we had suddenly ceases.
A crack, my dear, is a chain reaction,
Caused by your careless, tasteless actions.
Wasn't I good enough at the start?
When you claimed nothing would ever tear us apart?
I can't help but notice, that was but a dream.
Dear, reality isn't always what it seems.
Now I'm left sitting here alone in a chair,
Muttering to myself, running my fingers through my hair.
"I can't believe I couldn't see,
Too caught up in what you wanted me to be."
