Beer

Beer
March 20, 2005

There's someone whose look and manner
Are very strange and queer
He drinks Jesus Juice with little boys
His intentions come through loud and clear

The much more adult among us
Imbibe a different cup of cheer
I am of course, talking about
The heady brew known as beer

You may prefer a blonde, pale ale
Or a brunette - the hearty Guinness
We only know we feel a bit better
When the beverage flows within us

At first, you're smiley and mellow
Expressing yourself quite freely
Love abounds for both friend and foe
And you're oh so touchy feely

But merriment turns to melancholy
And maudlin becomes morose
Now you're argumentative - a fight breaks out
Before you know it - you're toast!

So let's raise a glass to Lady Beer
May we always be intoxicated
Just be sure to get home safe
Before you're too pixilated

    Corinne,
I absolutely love this little diddy about beer. It's quite the story and describes the feelings you get rather aptly. You used very descriptive adjectives and I thought the poem was great. It just goes to show you that you still write amazing after all these years.
