It Was All A Dream (love)

It Was All A Dream

I remember you kissing me, holding me
As I cried over your dead body
Which lay before me, disappearing
Into thin air

Before that, we were
Dancing in the ocean
Bathing in the warmth of the sun
My hands on your face made me feel naked

And we kissed.
We kissed with the emblems of the moon and the sun
The sky our sapphire jewel
Almost as shining as your eyes, but not as rare

Oh, how your smile dazzled me
I could hug you in the street
You'd never shy; you'd hold me
Listen to me cry and tremble in fear

Stroking my hair; combing it with your fingers
Your lips on my forehead
Just leaning against you, in your jacket
Felt as airy as heaven

Our love was like a tree; it started off a seed
Grew into a sapling; was watered with comfort
The sun of friendship shined on it
And that tree grew

We had a million children
All the children in the world
Each one smiled as the last
And were lovable

Almost as lovable as you.
You, the one
That held me close; you'd never let go
Where are you now, my love?

As we clasped our hands together
Whispering our prayers, thoughts, and dreams
Slipping on our beautiful rings
That disappeared with the wind

Oh; you flew to me, my darling
My heart beats for you
Where did you go?
My beautiful bird; I wish you'd stayed inside your cage

Then I could have loved you forever
But to know
A million children see you each knight
I'd surrender

They need you more than me, my love
But to know
You aren't here,next to me
My heart shatters

I don't want to know the truth
It hurts too much; I'd rather you lie
Oh, darling, why, oh, my
Must you only be a dream?
