A Kissing Memory...

by DeathlyAmore   Dec 31, 2006

Once treasured memories
Alas I thought shall be forever in bliss
Memories gone forever...
In my deepest sorrowful Abyss.

Photographic memories I treasure so dear
For they shall never return...
Memories I keep close to this aching heart
So it's fire may still burn...

I never again shall feel her roses
Combined in touch with mine
But I shall forever remember its taste
Like a sweet taste... of a Rose's Wine.

Well damn, I can not find one single thing I don't like about that poem. After all the poems I have been reading lately, that was just astonishing. You used just a touch of descriptive words, not over-doing it.

I really liked how you used the "Alas" and the "shall's". In most poems dots seem to take away from the poem, but I really think they add to this one.

It's a sad poem, but you don't think sad when you read it. You think beautiful, and grace. Maybe that's just me, but this really was an exquisite poem. Very well done.

    Keep writing!
