The Pink Dress

There was once a boy
Who fell in love with a girl
Met on the dance floor
And gave her a twirl

She was in a pink dress
And she danced so sweet
She was so beautiful
And he could feel the heat

She didn't know at the time
But that boy was poor
She was a princess
But she could never be in love more

He took her out
And they fell in love
She was his angel
From heaven above

She was too perfect
And that boy fell for her hard
She knew it was love
So she gave him her heart

Her parents did not approve
Of this boy that was poor
When he came to meet them
They just closed the door

Though their daughter was in love
They simply did not care
They did not understand
That their love was rare

Their daughter ran away
Her hair was a mess
She carried her shoes
And ran in her pink dress

She found that boy
Kissed him like there was no tomorrow
They ran away together
Leaving her parents in sorrow

They're still together now
And their life is the best
And still hanging in her closet
What made him fall in love: The little pink dress
