Louise

by Michael D Nalley   Jan 1, 2007

I knew a waitress named Louise
Who, handled her job with such ease
It was the customer she aimed to please
She worked well, and made it look like a breeze

She didn't seem to mind being the power behind the throne
She could work a real big party virtually alone
I don't believe I ever heard her complain or moan
She is the hardest working waitress I've ever known

Yes, she does her job without making a fuss
I can't remember ever hearing her swear or cuss
And she hardly ever needs help from any of us
When we are very busy that is really a plus

She said to me and I quote;
That in this poem it could be wrote
That, sometimes you have to be
She said with a smile you see
A just and impartial referee
Between general Glenda and me

Yes, busy in the shadows she does lurk
Sometimes a server and sometimes a clerk
But one thing for sure she gives my day some perk
When she says to me; do you think it will work
