Reba

by Michael D Nalley   Jan 1, 2007

I know a lovely lady named Reba
Who never treated me like an amoeba
We worked together for many years
Through the laughter and the tears

I remember one Halloween she looked like one of many milkmaids and I was a cow
I remember Smitty had us go out on the dance floor and take a bow
And Louise said Homers eyes were big as saucers, and he turned white
When she and Dizzy Lizzy got into a fight

Once she said she would marry me, I believe in jest
That would have put my devotion to mother to the test
And to a boyfriend a husband can be a pest
So she went east and I went west

But I will never forget her smiling face
And how she walked around with so much grace
In my heart she will have a special place
To add to a life of leather, a little lace

I really like this poem, You both kinda went your seperate ways but still had love for eachother, I know exactly what you mean. Every once in a while I think about what my life could have been like if I had made a different decision, Even thoght I am still a teenager. Excellent poem once again 5/5
