Cowards They Are Not

Cowardly and sinful
Is how this act is seen,
The one unkown question
The painful memory.

But do they know the reason
For this person's death?
Do they know what they've gone through
Or how long and hard they've wept?

A girl is in depression
Hit harder with these thoughts,
Her life unwinds before her eyes
Believe it may you not.

Another man is suffering
From cancer and disease,
A battle fought for his whole life
It's the only way he sees.

So when you judge those people
Who have taken their own lives,
Take the time to investigate
Because you may be quite surprised.

i don't know how good this poem is, there was an incident with my family on xmas where something was said and really triggered these feelings b/c my grandfather committed suicide... it was just a feeling, i don't know if it's any good or not. r/r/c if you like!

    Excellent work on this. It's definitely true what we wrote. Although a lot of people see suicide as a selfish act, we at least need to consider the circumstances surrounding why they did what they did in the first place.

    This is really good. Your words are true. Noone should judge another without being able to walk in their shoes. We can be empathetic towards people, sympathetic and think we know what they are going through, but you really don't unless you can personally experience it.
