Tis True

by Run out of words   Jan 1, 2007

'Tis true I hate the way I can't look into your eyes,
but that's not because I hate you.
It's because I'm afraid in my face you don't see a hint of grace,
and you feel none of the feelings that I do.

'Tis true I hate the way you stare at me at times,
but that's not because of you.
The beat of our hearts form a beat that rhymes,
which makes me afraid to think you stare other girls this way too.

'Tis true I hate when your friends are around,
but that's not because you ignore me.
But I hate it because of all the attention I found,
and how they steal it away so easily.

'Tis true I hate the way you laugh at me,
but not because I feel offended.
But because though you pierce me heart so easily,
when you smile my heart instantly bended.

Most of all 'tis true I hate the way I love you,
but it's not because of anything that you do.
It's because as much as I try not to fall,
compared to gravity my will seems small.
And gravity grasps the love that I hold for you,
and it pulls me hard as I fall in a deep stew.

'Tis true I hate the way I've fallen for you,
because when I fall it hurts me bad.
The physical fractures will heal in a week or two,
but I'll never regain the independence I had.

'Tis true I hate the way I need you,
like a cub needs its mum,
however the comparison may seem dumb.
Because there is not much,
to define the feeling of such.
The feeling...
'Tis so horribly true.
