Red Lace

by Rebekah   Jan 1, 2007

A decision through the tears,
While crying hated pain.
She knows the time come,
To end her life in vain.

She grabs the sharpest razor,
And quickly locks the door.
Pain now falls upon her wrists,
Red Lace onto the floor.

It all seemed like a dream,
When he held her so close.
But on the day he left her,
Sorrow gave its lethal dose.

It slowly took effect,
As her memories died.
The razor was her only friend,
Making marks to hide.

But all the anguish of her pain,
Brings to life a thought.
He must know of what's to come,
Of what his love has brought.

He can hear it in her voice,
That something's truly wrong.
And when she finally tells her story,
He knows she doesn't have long.

So he runs past his family,
Without a simple goodbye.
This can't happen him,
Why must she die?

Soon reaching her house,
He thinks it's to late.
He now prays to god,
"Oh please change her fate"

"I now offer my life,
To tell her goodbye.
But take me when I do,
Cause without her I'll die".

He walks into the room,
To see her on the floor.
He takes her hand in his,
He can't stand much more.

"I just can't hide it now,
My feelings seem so true.
There's something I need to confess,
I'm still in love with you".

Her face turns deathly pale,
As she takes in one last breathe.
"I love you too", she whispers
"With you, I fear not death".

The tears now streaming down,
Reveal the love once passed.
The broken hearts then mend,
In each other's arms at last.

And it's there they both died,
In a loving embrace.
Forever entwined,
In beautiful red lace.
