Memories Hurt

by Mousie   Jan 1, 2007

A sparkling lake and sunset,
A comfy boat for two,
The perfect little memory
Of something not so true.

Such a happy memory
Is now a painful one,
We changed so much in little time
And of happiness had none.

A tear still comes to mind
When I remember back to us,
To what we had and what we were
How were we once a must.

I shattered what we had
With a simple little note,
I broke your heart with five strong words
Each uttered something cold.

But like it didn't matter
Within a week you had moved on,
Those fifteen months were nothing now
My memory was gone.

I may not have really shown it
How hurt I was by you,
But to this day it's painful still
You should know it's true.

I know I hurt you fiercely
But on purpose it was not,
I didn't want to end like this
And have those memories forgot.

We've both moved on in our lives
And know our love not true,
But all those little memories
I remember when I'm blue.

just a little something i wrote about my ex, i had started to think of a poem earlier in my head, but i can't remember it and it was pretty good, but i did this instead... hope you like it

I thought this was really sweet yet sad.
I loved the flow and rythm, and the first stanza had me hooked. I think you did a wonderful job on this.

You make rhyming look so easy. I meant to tell you that you did a great job rhyming on your last one aswell. Your flow was amazing, and everything else too. You did an amazing job!

    Excellent
