Families are not just connected by blood or birth
for there are many others who are of worth.

I especially agree with that line right there....it might just be my age, but right now I hold my friends closer to me than family. that line just seems to ring true to me in my heart.

the rest of the poem was pretty good, and you kept up the rhyme scheme pretty well.

Honestly, it was a good poem.
But, I hated the rhyme.
I've recently tried unrhyming poetry, and it rules.
I think you could pull it off, because the rhyme seems forced, very forced in this poem.
