Singing from Hopelessness

by Michael   Jan 2, 2007

In innocence,
they play with smiles and laughter
thinking nothing of the past
for they choose not to remember it
or they don't remember it at all.

But in on a moonlit twilight
the children venture further into the truth
only to lure them to singing,

On top of an iron tower,
she perches singing
her binding melody
tell them not to go further.

The children still play in the hopeful world,
only to be blinded from the wasteland
that surrounds them each day.

The woman still sings,
weeping silently
as she still sings to keep the children
from knowing that their town and friends
lie in the ground
from the destruction of warfare.

    One last poem...I swear!

Anyways, this poem is of a tale (if not understood correctly) of how a small group of children wake up in a iron wasteland. They have fun and like to venture, but a woman sings to keep the children in the world they live in. She sings because she doesn't want them to know of their once beloved town lies in peices...quiet sad though...:'(

    So, please comment and enjoy!
