Last Night the World was Perfect

by sibyllene   Jan 2, 2007

Cold, cold and bright,
still, still the night,
the world was perfect
and glittering white.
the moon a coin, shining
light, cradled in branches
of sugar-tossed white
of icicle trances
the pain of the snow,
the pleasure of pain,
so perfect
the moon, in a sky sharp
and gray.

This poem paints a beautiful picture, one I really like. I really liked this stanza most of all:

    the pain of the snow,
    the pleasure of pain,

All together the poem had a very nice balance between flow and rhyme.
