The Breakthrough

by Khristie   Jan 3, 2007

Time skipped a beat when I took defeats seat,
Time ran too quick causing bitter conceit
Life left me blunt on the edge of reason,
After I was tried and tested for treason.
Sorry never cured any issue, wishing the regret would fade,
Wishes not kept make this friendship selfish trade.
It could never have been the right way to portray;
Or even the correct term of play.
I was uncertain it is true that I never left you.
But I stood by my pride, keeping denial at my side.
Honesty was always going to be weakness for trust,
Although what happened for me was all in your disgust;
Remember the rhyme \"friends forever?\"
How united we stood through the stormiest weather?
The thunder came strong leaving me with open scars,
Unveiling what was made of hidden memoirs.
I said we should always stay close till the end,
However, friends always have the chance to pretend.
False portrayals would surely deepen the battle,
We sunk deeper and deeper into enemy castle.
I was honest with you; could you not be with me?
Or was it that you just thought to agree?
Tell me the lie and our friend the truth,
Coquette dreamt up the everlasting corrupt youth.
I took my last stand, and I received my last blow,
I should have finished this brutal battle a long time ago.
