Hidden Meaning

by TheRapture03   Jan 5, 2007

Nothing in life is free
So take what you need
But leave your soul behind.

The reaper will come to snatch you in your prime
He'll come and take you
When you think all is fine.

You sold your soul to Satan
For the time of your life
It can never be retaken
And now you're thinking twice.

The time has come to repay your debt
He's taken your life, and he's not done yet
There's so much more from you that he can steal

You're sitting on your own
With no one to talk to
And nowhere to call your home

Through eternity he'll torment you
Torture you and mess with your mind
Till you're left with no will of your own
And nothing is fine

And nothing in life is free
You found that out and now you're lifeless
And now you're wondering why you sold your soul
For just one night of ecstasy
That you though would be priceless

This poem was good. I like the meaning and the storyline. I do think that it would be better not to tell people the plot of the poem beforehand. This poem is one that seems meant to make people think to uncover the meaning or to interpret it different ways. Thats what helps to make poetry great I think. Overall, though, I really enjoyed reading it. ^.^ 5/5
