The longest 10 minutes of my life: Pregnant.

by Marina   Jan 5, 2007

I chew off my last nail;
Let me tell you a tail.
A girl, 13, A boy, in love...
A battle of Strength...
I lost.

I crack my knuckles, snap my fingers,
I pray, I sing a peaceful tune, but still this fear lingers.

Pregnant.

I cry, I shake, I scratch my arm.
He's not here, to protect me, to keep me from harm.

Pregnant.

Ten Minutes had passed and I lay there starring Perhaps I was reading it wrong.

Pregnant
Pregnant
Pregnant.

A pain in my heart, a Girl, 13, So beautiful, so smart.
I lay awake for hours at night, I'm a mother now, because I lost the fight.

Pregnant.

In 9 months I'll give birth to a baby. I know you'll be there... Maybe.

Pregnant.

What about a name?
Something that wont bring the child shame....
Something sensible and strong.
Thanks, now I'll think of this all night long.

Pregnant.

When I go back to school tomorrow...
I'll hold it in... So no one will know...
My body weak, out of my eyes tears leak.

Pregnant....
Pregnant....

I can't be Pregnant...

I Am Pregnant...

Coming from a guy who's almost suffered through this I can say how beautiful the emotion you put into that was and how true all the thoughts that run through your head are! You really capture the moment and apply the reality of it to your poem. I. Love. It. :) Such a beautiful writer, keep going! xo
