AP Language&Composition Taught Me A Lesson In Love

by Eliza Stine   Jan 5, 2007

I once saw a movie
About unrequited love.
One character's line stuck with me:
'No one can take away your right to love.'

As I look back,
I see the truth in that line.
You may not love me,
But for you, I'll still pine.

I know it's not real,
But in my mind,
I see us together
For all of time.

I hold onto my dreams;
They're all I have left.
They may be untrue,
But they cheer me up best.

So the next time we talk,
Instead of wanting more,
I'll remember my dreams,
And let my heart soar.
